The Police - Roxanne

On this date in 1978, The Police released their second single, "Roxanne". It was backed by "Peanuts". Both songs appeared on their debut album, Outlandos d'Amour. The single, when first released did not chart. So, they re-released it in April, 1979. This time, the single reached the #12 spot in the U.K. and the #32 spot in the U.S. Their first single, "Fall Out" released in early 1977, was before Andy Summers had joined the band and featured Henry Padovani on guitar. The London new wave band disbanded in 1984. They have been touring together in recent years.
