Pere Ubu - Datapanik In The Year Zero

On this date in 1978, Pere Ubu released their first EP, Datapanik In The Year Zero. It contained five tracks, "Heart Of Darkness", "30 Seconds Over Tokyo", "Cloud 149", "Heaven" and "Untitled". These were all early tracks and had not appeared on an album. The avant-garde/proto punk band from Cleveland, Ohio was formed after Rocket From The Tombs broke up. Dave Thomas and Peter Laughner formed Pere Ubu while fellow Rocket From The Tombs band members, Cheetah Chrome and Johnny Blitz, founded The Dead Boys. Pere Ubu continues to release music.
