The Monochrome Set - The Strange Boutique

On this date in 1980, The Monochrome Set released their fourth single, "The Strange Boutique". It was backed by "Surfing S.W.12". The A side appeared on their debut album, Strange Boutique. The B side was a non-LP track which was actually a re-working of The Velvet Underground's "Waiting For The Man". The London post-punk band formed after the break-up of the B-Sides, whose members included Stuart Goddard (Adam Ant). The band released five albums before disbanding in 1985. They re-formed a few years later.
