Madness - Grey Day

On this date in 1981, Madness released their ninth single, "Grey Day". It was backed by "Memories". The A side appeared on their third album, 7. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #4 spot on the U.K. singles chart. A 12 inch version was also offered. In addition to the A side, it came with "Take It Or Leave It" and "Baggy Trousers" , both from their second album, Absolutely. The 12 inch also included a spanish version of "One Step Beyond". The London ska band called it quits in 1986 but re-formed in 1992 and is still intact.
