The End Of Punk At The 100 Club

On this date in 1978, The 100 Club, the legendary London club that had an open mind to punk rock music and saw the likes of Sex Pistols, The Clash, Buzzcocks, The Damned, U.K. Subs and Angelic Upstarts, hosted their last punk show, deciding to move more towards jazz and blues. It was Alternative TV that got this last gig.
A few years later, they eased their policy and hardcore punk bands got gigs there but punk was no longer the main attraction. The club is still open today.
