Elvis Costello - Pump It Up

On this date in 1978, Elvis Costello released his seventh single, "Pump It Up". It was backed by "Big Tears". The A side appeared on his second album, This Year's Model. The B side was a non-LP track but was included on the album when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #24 spot on the U.K. singles chart. Both sides of the single featured The Clash's Mick Jones as a guest guitarist. The London punk/new wave singer is still recording and performing. His backup band is now The Imposters.
