The Beat - Save It For Later

On this date in 1982, The Beat released their ninth single, "Save It For Later". The single appeared on their third album, Special Beat Service. The B side was a non-LP track called "What's Your Best Thing?". In The U.S., the B side was "Jeanette" which was on the album. The single reched the #47 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Birmingham, England ska band broke up in 1983 after three albums. Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger formed General Public. Andy Cox and David Steele formed Fine Young Cannibals. They were, of course, known as The English Beat in the U.S.
