The Associates - Club Country

|

On this date in 1982, The Associates released their tenth single, "Club Country". It was backed by ""A.G. It's You Again". The A side appeared on their third album, Sulk. The B side was a non-LP track. The 12 inch version added "Ulcragyceptemol" (added as a bonus to Sulk when it was re-released) and a remixed version of "Club Country". The single reached the #10 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Edinburgh, Scotland new wave band disbanded in 1990 after four albums but re-formed a few years later. The band affectively ended with the death of Billy MacKenzie in 1997.
