Tubeway Army - Down In The Park

On this date in 1979, Tubeway Army released their third single, "Down In The Park". It was backed by "Do You Need The Service?" The 12 inch offered a third track, "I Nearly Married A Human (2)". The A side appeared on their second album, Replicas. The B side was a non-LP track but it was added as a bonus track when the album was re-released on CD. The extra 12-inch track was a re-worked version of a song on Replicas and it, too, was added to the CD re-release of the album. Replicas wound up being the last album for the London new wave band. They disbanded in 1979. Lead singer, Gary Numan, who was named Valerian at this time, went on to a very successful solo career.
