Swell Maps - Dresden Style

|

On this date in 1979, Swell Maps released their second single, "Dresden Style". It was backed by "Ammunition Train" and "Full Moon". None of the tracks appeared on a regular album except "Full Moon" which had a different version of the song, called "Full Moon (Reprise)", on their debut, A Trip To Marineville. Not much of the single was actually new. The only one of the tracks that was recently recorded was "Ammunition Train". The first track was actually recorded in 1976. The Birmingham, England post punk band called it quits in 1980 after four singles and two albums (plus an EP giveaway with the first album). Brothers Epic Soundtracks and Nikki Sudden went on to solo careers. Both are now deceased.
