The Suicide Commandos - Match/Mismatch

On this date in 1977, The Suicide Commandos released their second single, "Match/Mismatch". It was backed by "Mark He's A Terror". The A side appeared on their only album, Make A Record. The B side was a non-LP track. The Minneapolis, Minnesota punk band had released their debut single in 1976, laying claim to releasing the first punk record in Minneapolis. In fact, truth be told, they were probably the only punk band in Minneapolis at the time. The scene would eventually spawn The Suburbs, Husker Du and The Replacements. The Suicide Commandos disbanded in 1979.
