Squeeze - Cool For Cats


On this date in 1979, Squeeze released their fourth single, "Cool For Cats". It was backed by "Model". The A side appeared on their second album, Cool For Cats, which was also released on this date. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #2 spot on the U.K. singles chart. As for the album, it also contained the singles, "Slap And Tickle" (#24 U.K.), "Up The Junction" (#2 U.K.) and "Goodbye Girl" (#63 U.K.). The album reached the #45 spot on the U.K. albums chart. The London new wave band first disbanded in 1982 but re-formed in 1985 and stayed intact until 1999. They have recently done some touring.
