On this date in 1980, Public Image Ltd re-released their second album, Metal Box but it was no longer in a metal film canister. Now it looked more tradional and was renamed Second Edition. It contained the singles, "Careering" and "Memories" (#60 U.K.), plus "Death Disco" (#20 U.K.) which, on the album was named "Swan Lake" and was slightly re-worked version. The post-punk band, fronted by John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) formerly of Sex Pistols, lasted until 1993.
