Plasmatics - Butcher Baby

On this date in 1979, Plasmatics released their debut single, "Butcher Baby". The B side contained "Fast Food Service" and "Concrete Shoes". The A side would be released again in 1980 as a single and would appear on their debut album, New Hope For The Wretched, as would "Concrete Shoes". The other track was left off but "Fast Food Service" was added as a bonus track when the album was re-released on CD. They were infamous for their violent stage shows which included the use of chainsaws and sledgehammers and were fronted by the unique Wendy O. Williams. The New York punk band turned to metal in the early '80's and they disbanded in 1987.
