The Nuns - World War III

On this date in 1980, The Nuns released their third single, "World War III". It was backed by "Cock In My Pocket". The A side appeared on their self-titled debut album. The B side did not. The San Francisco punk band disbanded in 1980. They were one of the opening acts, along with The Avengers, for The Sex Pistols last show (San Francisco, Winterland Ballroom, January 14, 1978). Guitarist Alejandro Escovedo later resurfaced with Chip and Tony Kinman (ex-Dils) in Rank & File. The Nuns have since re-formed and are based in New York City as a goth band.
