Joe "King" Carrasco and The Crowns - Party Weekend

|

On this date in 1980, Joe "King" Carrasco released his second single, "Party Weekend". It was backed by "Houston El Mover". The B side appeared on their self-titled debut album, released under their new name, Joe "King" Carrasco and The Crowns, which reflected a move towards a more new wave sound. The A side would not appear on an album until 1983's Party Weekend. Prior to this single, the band was known as Joe "King" Carrasco and El Molina and had a heavier focus on Tex-Mex music, no surprise considering his roots in Dumas, Texas. He released music deep into the 90's.
