The Jam - Strange Town

On this date in 1979, The Jam released their seventh single, "Strange Town". It was backed by "The Butterfly Collector". Neither track initially appeared on an album. The A side was added to their fourth album, Setting Sons, on a later CD re-release. The B side was not. The single reached the #15 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Woking, England punk/mod revivalist band disbanded in 1982. Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler have toured together since. Paul Weller has no interest in a reunion.
