The Jam - Going Underground

On this date in 1980, The Jam released their thirteenth single, "Going Underground". It was backed by "Dreams Of Children". Neither track appeared on a regular album though both were added to their fourth album, Setting Sons, when re-released on CD. The single reached the #1 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Woking, U.K. punk/mod band disbanded in 1982 after six studio albums and a host of singles, four of which reached the top spot on the U.K. singles chart. Paul Weller went on to form The Style Council. Bruce Foxton joined Stiff Little Fingers in 1991 and stayed on until 2005. Foxton and Rick Buckler have reunited to record and tour without Weller.
