Fad Gadget - Ricky's Hand


On this date in 1980, Fad Gadget released their second single, "Ricky's Hand". It was backed by "Handshake". Neither track appeared on an album. The London, England avant-garde band was actually Frank Tovey and an ever-changing group of musicians. Fad Gadget broke up in 1984. Frank Tovey passed away April 3, 2002.

This was such a cool electropop single...I loved the cartoon pic on back showing a hand shoved into a blender, thus a "hand shake". the a side was the vocal and the b-side a continuation dub. I don't think Fad GAdget ever equaled this moment, IMHO. ON par with The Normal TVOD/Warm Leatherette 45.
