The Exploited - Dogs Of War

|

On this date in 1981, The Exploited released their fourth single, "Dogs Of War". It was backed by a live version of "Blown To Bits". The A side did not originally appear on their debut studio album, Punks Not Dead, but it was added as a bonus track when it was re-released on CD. The Edinburgh, Scotland band was one of the U.K.'s original Oi! bands. They are still together but moved towards thrash by the late '80's.

Punks Not Dead is one of the single most influential punk releases of all time. I'm basically a peace punk or some stupid shit like that if you must place a label and I never gave a fuck about the EXPLOITED being brash assholes that would probably kick my head around for being an idealist but whatever, their music kicks a lot fucking ass. It just makes you realize how badly almost all of the new punk sucks.
