Eddie and The Hot Rods - Writing On The Wall

On this date in 1976, Eddie and the Hot Rods released their debut single, "Writing On The Wall". It was backed by "Cruisin' (In The Lincoln)". Neither track appeared on an album but both were added as bonuses to their debut album, Teenage Depression, when it was re-released on CD. The Essex, U.K. power-pop/proto punk band disbanded in 1981. Bassist Paul Gray left before the end to play in The Damned. The band re-formed a few times since and has been playing live recently.
