Chelsea - War Across The Nation

On this date in 1982, Chelsea released their eleventh single, "War Across The nation". The B side was a remixed version of "High Rise Living". The A side appeared on their third studio album, Evacuate, though it was a different take of the song. The B side, before being remixed, was originally a non-LP single but was added to their second album, Alternative Hits, as a bonus track on its CD re-release. The London punk band originally consisted of Gene October, William Broad (Billy Idol), Tony James and John Towe. Within a few weeks, everyone except Gene October bolted to form Generation X. Gene October had to recruit an entire new band. Chelsea is still performing and Gene October is still there.
