The 101'ers - Elgin Avenue Breakdown

On this date in 1981, The 101'ers had their first album released, Elgin Avenue Breakdown. Interesting since they disbanded almost five years earlier with just one single to see the light of day, "Keys To Your Heart". Not surprising though since their lead singer was Woody Mellor. Ring a bell? How about Joe Strummer? Yes, Woody Mellor was the name that The Clash frontman went by while in The 101'ers. The group's last two gigs were in support of The Sex Pistols. The album contained the singles, "Keys To Your Heart" and another dragged out of the archives in 1981, "Sweet Revenge".
