The New Age Steppers

On this date in 1981, The New Age Steppers released their self-titled debut album. It included the single, "Fade Away". The London post-punk/dub band was originally set up to be a single recording project but stayed around with an ever-changing group of musicians to record three albums through 1983. Their members included Mark Stewart (The Pop Group), Ari Up (The Slits), Neneh Cherry (The Slits, Rip Rig & Panic) and Keith Levene (Public Image Ltd).
