Lene Lovich - New Toy

|

On this date in 1981, Lene Lovich released her eighth single, New Toy. It was backed by "Cats Away". She had previously released two full-length albums. The EP of the same name contained the two 7 inch tracks plus "Savages", "Special Star", "Never Never Land" and "Details". The feature single track was written by Thomas Dolby. The single reached the #51 spot on the U.K. singles chart but the EP did not chart. The new wave singer was born in Detroit, Michigan but relocated to England as a child. She still performs occasionally.

I am musing and am amused by the distant memory of dancing with my babies to New Toy, Cats Away, Home and others. Perhaps it may be a leading clue as to how they turned out as adults. ~ I present my mercenary version of Cats Away:
