Josef K - Chance Meeting

|

On this date in 1980, Josef K released their debut single, "Chance Meeting". It was backed by "Romance". Neither track appeared on their only album (while together). They had cut an album earlier called Sorry For Laughing but it wasn't released until 1990 due to the bands dissatisfaction with the reult. The A side was re-released in 1982 as a single again in remixed form and with a different B side. The Edinburgh, Scotland post-punk band disbanded in 1982 with just one album though posthumous releases would come out, including Sorry For Laughing. Guitarist Malcolm Ross joined Orange juice and then Aztec Camera. Drummer Ronnie Torrance joined Boots For Dancing. Vocalist Paul Haig went on to a moderately successful solo career.

Malcolm Ross joined Orange Juice - not Aztec Camera

He was in both. I thought his stint in Orange Juice was much briefer than it actually was. He was most assuredly in Aztec Camera. I'll add the Orange Juice membership.

Malcolm Ross
