Drop Out With The Barracudas

On this date in 1981, The Barracudas released their debut album, Drop Out With The Barracudas. It included the singles, "Summer Fun" (#37 U.K.), "(I Wish It Could Be) 1965 Again" and "His Last Summer". The London band started as a surf punk band consisting of a Swiss guitarist (Robin Wills), a Canadian lead vocalist (Jeremy Gluck) and two Englishman (Nick Turner and David Buckley). Numerous lineup changes and a move away from the surf influence contributed to their demise and they were history by 1984 but they have re-formed in recent years. Drummer Nick Turner went on to become an original member of Lords Of The New Church.
