Damned Damned Damned

On this date in 1977, The Damned released their debut album, Damned Damned Damned. It contained the singles, "New Rose" and "Neat Neat Neat". The album reached the #36 spot on the U.K. albums chart. The London punk/goth band laid claim to releasing the first U.K. punk album with this release (just like they earned the title of having the first U.K. punk single with "New Rose"). Numerous lineup changes over the years has allowed them to position themselves to compete for the title of most breakups too. They are, however, still performing...for now.
