Blondie - Plastic Letters


On this date in 1978, Blondie released their second album, Plastic Letters. It contained the singles, "Denis" (#2 U.K.), "(I'm Always Touched By Your) Presence Dear" (#10 U.K.) and "Kidnapper". The album reached the #10 spot on the U.K. albums chart and the #72 spot on the U.S. albums spot. The New York City punk/new wave band disbanded in 1982. They re-formed in 1998 and continue to perform and record.

For my money this is the best Blondie.. it's got a great mix of the 60's bubblegum and US punk influences and longterm listenability has proven it to be less "by numbers" Blondie than the huge smash follow up!!!
