Wire - Outdoor Miner

|

On this date in 1979, Wire released their fourth single, "Outdoor Miner". It is backed by "Practise Makes Perfect". Both tracks appeared on their second album, Chairs Missing, though the A side was a longer version on the single. The single reached the #51 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London punk/post-punk band went on hiatus in 1980 and the band members worked on other projects. They re-formed in 1985 and have been on and off ever since.
