Throbbing Gristle - D.O.A. (Third And Final Report)

On this date in 1979, Throbbing Gristle released their thirteenth album (most of which were live), D.O.A. (Third And Final Report). It contained an incredibly sped up version of their single, "United" (sped up to just 16 seconds). It also included a track by each of the members as a solo piece along with several group songs. The London post punk/experimental band is credited as being one of the founders of industrial music. While most of their releases were live albums over the course of their career, they did release some studio material and lasted until 1981. Genesis P-Orridge and Peter Christopherson formed Psychic TV. Throbbing Gristle re-formed in 2004 and have been somewhat active.
