The Teenage Filmstars - I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape

On this date in 1981, The Teenage Filmstars released their third single, "I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape". It was backed by "We're Not Sorry". The Chelsea, England mod revivalist band was really a side project of TV Personalities and consisted of Ed Ball, Joe Foster and Daniel Treacy, all TV Personalities members, along with drummer Paul Damien. They did not release a regular album under "The Teenage Filmstars". Ed Ball, Paul Damien and Daniel Treacy, along with some other musicians also recorded "I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape" under the name The Times. The Teenage Filmstars project lasted until 1980 and was resurrected for awhile during the 1990's.
