The Teardrop Explodes - Reward

On this date in 1981, The Teardrop Explodes released their fifth single, "Reward". It was backed by "Strange House In The Snow". The A side appeared on their debut album, Kilimanjaro, but not on its first release. The track was added at re-pressing time. The B side was a non-LP track that was added to the album as a bonus track when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #6 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Liverpool, England post punk band dissolved in 1982 after two albums. Lead singer Julian Cope went on to a distinguished solo career. Keyboardist Paul Simpson went on to form The Wild Swans.

Hi, just a small correction - I have the original Kilimanjaro and Reward does not appear on it. The album was repressed and reissued with Reward and a new cover shortly after the single got in the charts.
