The Rich Kids - Rich Kids

On this date in 1978, The Rich Kids released their debut single, "Rich Kids". It was backed by "Empty Words". The A side appeared on their only album, Ghosts Of Princes In Towers. The B side did not make the album but was added as a bonus track when the album was re-released on CD. The single reached the #24 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London punk band disbanded by year's end after three singles and one album. They were Glen Matlock (ex-Sex Pistols), Midge Ure (future Visage and Ultravox), Steve New (future PIL) and Rusty Egan (future Visage and The Skids).
