A Message To Our Loyal Fans

|

Looks like Club80 has almost finished backfilling the week of Jan 18 so scroll down and catch up. Hopefully, that short break gave you a chance to enjoy some of the Saturday Night Home Cinema films that I posted. Sorry for any confusion.

While I have your attention, I noticed that nobody ever clicks the links for Wikipedia, YouTube, or a band's official website. Should we keep posting those links or should we give Club80 a break and streamline the posts?

Also, in 2009, is there anything special or different that you guys would like to see on The P5?

COMMENTS PLEASE!

I'd like to see less 2nd rate pop and punk and more interesting stuff that came out the 80s like Krautrock, experimental and electronic music - especially European stuff.

I think your site is just fine. The wikipedia and youtube links are probably unnecessary, but any official band sites are a good idea.

Heck, I just want to see you post that Dead Fingers Talk link. :P

Hey Mookie: Looks like you've got it covered. Frankly, I just want it posted so YOU all can hear it, and believe. :) I finally found it via torrent, and posted something on one of the Stiff Little Fingers threads about it a few weeks back, since that's who got me confused the first time.... Anyway, it's STILL a great album, and now I have it again. Go discover it and thank me in the morning. :)

i'm with "mike" here. i love your blog but there's too much 2nd rate pop and punk. how about more experimental/obscure stuff like industrial and minimal wave, i know you post stuff like that sometimes, but what about things that were only released on tape, for example. you do a good job though.

I can't say it enough -- You guys do a great job here.

For the record: I've never used the youtube or wikipedia links myself.

Cheer and thanks for everything.

I've used the YouTube links every so often. I wouldn't change a thing, but if I were forced to pick, it would be nixing the Wikipedia links.

Thanks for everything!

Hey, in terms of links, what you're posting is fine, and I do use them on more obscure stuff. I concur about wikipedia: first to go. Sure, some of the poppier posts I just skip over, and I look forward to new (read: more obscure) items.

Anyway, Good On Ya, and many, many thanks! Cheers!

Signed Anonymous' mother.

Oops....discovered!

Okay. I'll come clean. I like the videos where available and the band websites. I don't care one way or another about the wikipedia link.

Time has been at a premium lately so I will occasionally fall a bit behind but not too far (I hope). I like keeping the stuff we have but definitely want to expand it in the near future.

I love the comments. It is the best way to swap stories and hear about what you like and what memories come with certain posts. Keep talking!

I stand up for wikipedia links. I find it somewhat enjoyable to read all that small information found on wikipedia about these strange forgotten bands.

I also like the music on your posts this far.

Thank you.

I love your site just the way it is!! I use the Wiki/official website/video links and greatly appreciate them.

Woah! This is a great great site. Maybe I miss a little garage revival from the 80's and stuff for non-english speaking countries (Spain, France, Germany, Italy...)

Keep on, guys!

your blog is fun and informative. I appreciate the work that goes into maintaining this site.
As for the Wiki links- I personally never use them. When there is no other link I may have a gander at You Tube clips if it is a song I have not heard for a while or some other revelation you have brought about.
Official Band Sites Yay, for instance this one:

The Only Ones official site and merchandise
they will be re-releasing their 3 studio albums remastered with bonus tracks [2 feb 09'] as well as other fun merchandise available at this site

Cheers

I would like to see if you could make it so there is a category for singles, and one for albums. Sometimes I come for albums and all I see are mostly singles, and vice versa. It would be nice to be able to check out just one or the other when I want to. Unless this is somehow already possible and I just don't know it.

Still a great site - Thanks for all the hard work!

Only thing I would add is if its possible to scan a few old
70's/80's music paper articles, live reviews, (Sounds/NME etc) relevant to each band mentioned.

Maybe we can tag the entries as albums or singles. I'll work on a few things when I have some time.

Hmmm...I like this idea, though it would have to be on a smaller scale than you mentioned. Perhaps one a day? I'll give this some research.

Hey

what about woodentops? it would fit nicely here

keep digging

Yeah, that would be cool. Just a simple tagging. I like scrolling though, just sometimes I'm looking for a new album, or sometimes just a good new song to listen too. Thanks!

Just keep doing what your doing would be my advice. This site is great and I love it the way it is and I thank you sincerely for all your efforts. If it wasn't for this site, I wouldn't of found half the great music I have. 10/10
