(Meet The) Plasmatics

On this date in 1980, The Plasmatics released their third EP, (Meet The) Plasmatics. It contained the songs "Sometimes I (Feel It When You're Down on Your Knees)", "Won't You?" and "Want You Baby". All three tracks appeared on their debut full-length LP, New Hope For The Wretched. They were infamous for their violent stage shows which included the use of chainsaws and sledgehammers and were fronted by the unique Wendy O. Williams. The New York punk band turned to metal in the early '80's and they disbanded in 1987.
