Magazine - Shot By Both Sides


On this date in 1978, Magazine released their debut single, "Shot By Both Sides". It was backed by "My Mind Ain't So Open". The A side appeared on their debut album, Real Life. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #41 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Manchester, England post punk band, fronted by original Buzzcocks' frontman Howard Devoto, disbanded in 1981 after four studio albums and one live album. Howard Devoto went on to Luxuria, Barry Adamson soon joined Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, and John McGeoch was later in Siouxsie and The Banshees, Visage and Public Image Ltd.
