Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers - Here Comes The Martian Martians

On this date in 1977, Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers released their third single, "Here Comes The Martian Martians". It was backed by "New Egland". Both tracks appeared on their second album, Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers. The power pop/punk prototype band formed in Boston and had David Robinson (later of The Cars) and Jerry Harrison (later of Talking Heads) as members of The Modern Lovers in the early days. Jonathan Richman still performs today.
