Generation X - King Rocker

On this date in 1979, Generation X released their fourth single, "King Rocker". It was backed by "Gimme Some Truth". The A side appeared on their second album, Valley Of The Dolls. The B side was a non-LP track but was included on the U.S. version of their self-titled debut album. It was also added as a bonus track to their second album when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #11 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London punk band was formed by Billy Idol, Tony James and John Towe, all of whom left punk band Chelsea before it was time to record. They lasted until 1981 with three albums to their credit.
