Blondie - Heart Of Glass

On this date in 1979, Blondie released their tenth single, "Heart Of Glass". It was backed by "Rifle Range" (though there were many different releases with a few different B sides). The A side appeared on their third album, Parallel Lines. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #1 spot on both the U.S. and U.K. singles charts. The song was originally written in 1975 and called "The Disco Song". The New York City punk/new wave band disbanded in 1982. They re-formed in 1998 and continue to perform and record.
