The Avengers EP

On this date in 1980, The Avengers released their second record, a 12 inch self-titled EP. It contained "The American In Me", "Uh Oh!", "Corpus Christi" and "White Nigger". This was actually released after their 1979 breakup (though they have re-formed on and off since). The San Francisco punk band opened for Sex Pistols at their very last show (not including later reunions) which was in San Francisco on January 14, 1978.

absolutely classic US punk stuff that has rec'd far too little attention. Track down their LP (s/t on CD Presents) and their track on Rat Music for Rat People vol 1. ("Cheap tragedies"). Highly recommended.

It was released as a 12" and not a 7"EP.
