The Germs - (GI)

On this date in 1979, The Germs released their debut album, (GI). It would be their only album. It contained the single, "Lexicon Devil". GI was the secret name the band used to book gigs after their reputation prevented them from booking gigs under "The Germs" The Los Angeles punk band was fronted by Darby Crash, who committed suicide on December 7, 1980 through a successfully planned drug overdose. That was the end of the band. They have re-formed to do shows recently with a new lineup.
