On this date in 1979, The Skids released their sixth single, "Working For The Yankee Dollar". The B side was "Vanguard's Crusade". The A side appeared on their second album, Days In Europa, though it was a different recording on the song. The B side was a non-LP track that was added as a bonus when the album was re-released on CD. For a limited time, the single was bundled with a second 7 inch record featuring "All the Young Dudes" and "Hymns From A Haunted Ballroom", neither of which showed up on the album. The single reached the #20 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Dunfermline, Scotland post punk band disbanded in 1982 after four albums. Stuart Adamson went on to form Big Country.
