I remember vividly the first time I danced to this at Danceteria and thinking this is a great track. Who the hell is this?
Ah...Danceteria! I remember it well. And The Peppermint Lounge.
Those are some of my fondest memories. I would listen to the P5 and win scads of free tickets to see shows in the city. I was literally out every night for 5+ years. Either DJ'ing or seeing shows. Shoulda been studying. But I am so glad I did it! I loved the Peppermint Lounge (both locations!). The Peppermint Lounge holds the distinction as being the club I stayed up the latest (at that time) to see a show - 4:30 AM to see Pylon. Sure couldn't do that now:). Does anyone remember the names of the P5DJ's? I can only remember Sara Salir and Jeff Foss. How good was college radio then! Ever listen to college radio now? Seems to me the only kids that apply are the ones with speech impediments. Just brutal! Gotta get back to work. But I have just a ton of stuff to reminisce about from the years 77-87. Later, grumpy
Grumpy, we used to do the same thing. I remember winning last minute tickets tickets to shows like Oingo Boingo and The Fleshtones. Did you DJ at a club in NY?
