Buzzcocks - Promises

On this date in 1978, Buzzcocks released their sixth single, "Promises". It was backed by "Lipstick". Neither track appeared on an album until the release of their singles collection, Singles Going Steady, in 1979. The single reached the #20 spot on the U.K. singles chart. Both tracks were also added to their second album, Love Bites, on a later CD-release. The Manchester, England punk band disbanded originally in 1981 but re-formed in 1989. Of the original lineup, only Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle remain.
