On this date in 1981, Anti-Nowhere League released their debut single, "Streets Of London". It was backed by "So What". The A side appeared on their debut album, We Are...The League. The B side was a non-LP track which was added as a bonus track when the album was re-released on CD. In 1982, the London offices housing the band's new single were raided resulting in the confiscation of over 10,000 copies. The target wasn't the A-side. It was the B-side which was labeled as having obscene lyrics. The records would later be destroyed under the Obscene Publications Act. The Kent, England punk band disbanded in 1989, only to re-form in 1992 and be somewhat active on the recording and performance fronts.
