The Vapors - Waiting For The Weekend

|

In September of 1980, The Vapors released their fourth single, "Waiting For The Weekend". It was backed by "Billy". The A side appeared on their debut album, New Clear Days. The B side was a non-LP track that was added as a bonus when the album was re-released on CD. The Guildford, England band was from the same area as The Jam and were managed by Bruce Foxton of The Jam. The new wave/power pop band called it quits in 1981 after two albums.

Didn't know this was issued as a single from this album... kind of a weak choice after TURNING JAPANESE and the wonderful NEWS AT TEN ( even though the later was a flop! )...... often under-appreciated as aone hit wonder band because of their one hit, NEW CLEAR DAYS still holds up as a fantastic record!
