On this date in 1981, Thomas Dolby released his second solo single, "Europa And The Pirate Twins". It was backed by "Therapy/Growth". The A side appeared on his debut album, The Golden Age Of Wireless. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #48 spot on the U.K. singles chart and the #67 spot on the U.S. singles chart. The London new wave musician was a previous member of Bruce Woolley and The Camera Club as well as The Fallout Club prior to his solo career. He also wrote "New Toy" for Lene Lovich. After some time off, he has recently started performing again.
