The Teardrop Explodes - When I Dream

On this date in 1980, Teardrop Explodes released their fourth single, "When I Dream". It was backed by "Kilimanjaro". The A side appeared on their debut album, Kilimanjaro. The B side did not appear on the album inititally (unusual since their debut album was called Kilimanjaro) but was added to Kilimanjaro when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #47 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Liverpool, England post punk band disbanded in 1982 after two albums. Lead singer Julian Cope went on to become a successful solo artist. Keyboardist Paul Simpson formed The Wild Swans.
