The Teardrop Explodes - Ha Ha I'm Drowning

On this date in 1981, Teardrop Explodes released their seventh single, "Ha Ha I'm Drowning". It was backed by "Poppies In The Field". Both tracks appeared on their debut album, Kilimanjaro. The single reached the #47 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Liverpool, England post punk band disbanded in 1982 after two albums. Lead singer Julian Cope went on to become a successful solo artist. Keyboardist Paul Simpson formed The Wild Swans.
